The Program

Given the scale of trauma caused by the events of October 7th and their impact on the mental health of Israeli society — particularly among children and adolescents — a large-scale psychological support and post-traumatic prevention program has been implemented by FSJU in Israel, in partnership with local stakeholders.
Through a multi-year commitment, FSJU in Israel has decided to support these populations over the next 3 years in the most affected cities, notably Ofakim and Netivot, with the Rashi Foundation
This initiative aims to strengthen the resilience of young people directly affected by the attack, by offering them psychological support tailored to their age, needs, and experiences. Designed as a concrete and urgent response to the mental health crisis affecting Israeli youth, this program is actively supported by psychologists and overseen by steering committees.

This project, funded by FSJU in Israel, the Municipality of Ofakim, and the Rashi Foundation, includes:
• Individualized psychological support provided by qualified professionals
• Therapeutic group activities, adapted to each age group
• Constant supervision by a steering committee and a team of experienced psychologists
• A personalized approach that considers the specific reality of each child

Objectives

  • Provide concrete solutions to the specific needs of each young person

  • Treat distress, anxiety, and post-traumatic symptoms

  • Rekindle hope, restore confidence, and the feeling of security

  • Strengthen resilience, both individual and collective, for a more stable and peaceful future
