The Program
Because education is one of the most powerful tools to combat social vulnerability and strengthen social cohesion, FSJU Israel has actively supported the Latet organization for several years, and more specifically its flagship program dedicated to youth: Noar Latet.
Recognized by the Israeli Ministry of Education, Noar Latet is a unique educational program in Israel, aimed at adolescents aged 13 to 18 from the country’s geographical or social periphery. For four years, participants follow a comprehensive training program in leadership, social entrepreneurship, and civic engagement, with an emphasis on concrete action, responsibility, and diversity.
The young people are divided into local groups across the country, supervised by experienced coordinators. Throughout the year, they participate in workshops, solidarity projects, national seminars, and volunteer activities. They must also conceive and implement social initiatives, responding to the real needs of their communities: renovation of precarious housing, assistance to the elderly, educational or intergenerational projects, etc.
This program does not merely teach solidarity: it makes it vibrant and formative. Young people transition from being potential beneficiaries to becoming agents of change. They acquire essential skills – communication, organization, teamwork, empathy – while becoming aware of their power to act in Israeli society.
In 2019, FSJU Israel supported four Noar Latet groups across the country, extending its long-standing commitment with Latet in the field of food security. This partnership is part of a shared vision: to build a more just, inclusive, and supportive society by investing in future generations.

Latet formed the largest civil coalition in response to the Coronavirus in Israel, composed of the Ministry of Health, the IDF, and the Ministry of Social Affairs, to confront the unprecedented health and economic crisis the world is facing.
Since the beginning of the crisis, Latet has worked tirelessly to purchase, pack, and distribute 15,000 packages of food and hygiene products to individuals living alone and in poverty.
