The organization Lev Tov Israel, led by Nathalie Boukris, was created based on the model of the Lev Tov France network, founded in 2001 by Mendy Attal. Known for its effectiveness and close ties with those in distress, Lev Tov Israel currently operates in the Jerusalem region to address the urgent needs of vulnerable families, often from French-speaking Aliyah.

With the support of FSJU Israel, Lev Tov opened a social grocery store in the Talpiot neighborhood, where families can receive basic foodstuffs in a respectful and supportive environment. This structure provides a concrete response to an alarming observation: in Israel, food insecurity can set in very quickly, and many families live with an empty refrigerator.

However, Lev Tov’s action goes far beyond food aid. Thanks to its network of dedicated volunteers – often former volunteers in France who have made Aliyah themselves – the organization distributes:

• Shabbat meals and food packages for holidays,

• school bags and supplies for the start of the school year,

• gifts for Purim and Hanukkah,

• and offers compassionate and discreet support to isolated families.

Lev Tov has also launched, in partnership with FSJU Israel, a youth program titled “Colobus”, a summer camp for nearly 80 French-speaking children, offering a safe environment, excursions, and educational activities. These young people are supervised, supported, and sometimes even mobilized as volunteers in charitable activities, to strengthen their confidence, responsibility, and sense of purpose.
