Young people with intellectual disabilities use adapted treadmills and bicycles in a supervised gym.

The Program

In 2019, FSJU Israel supported ALUT through the Beith Rahel-Strauss High School in Jerusalem. The school implemented an innovative method to support children with autism, integrating physical, nutritional, and therapeutic approaches. A fully equipped gym was modernized within the high school, with adapted equipment (weight training, treadmills, bicycles, etc.) to allow students to work on their balance and well-being.

Objectives

  • To improve the quality of life for young people with autism by addressing stress, sensory disorders, and personal development through individualized support, combining sports, nutrition, and cognitive therapies.
