The theatre for (re)construction – “School of art and expression”
Recognizing the popularity of French culture in Israel and the need of francophone olim [immigrants] to remain in contact with the culture of origin, the FSJU supports an innovative project.
There are two goals for the initiative of Steve Suissa and his association “mem” “the School of Art and Expression”: to help young French olim having difficulty integrating and to spread the French cultural heritage through theatre.
The young participants of the School of Art and Expression receive complete and professional training in various artistic areas, including singing, writing, costuming and directing.
At the same time, through master classes, the students meet prestigious francophone speakers, including Francis Huster, Thierry Lhermitte and François-Xavier Demaison.
Thanks to the School for Art and Expression, these youth gain an alternative path to integration and build themselves a life in their new country.
